Near The Bear, North is an alphabet book of the animals, fish, birds and fauna of the North. A unique alphabet book of pochoir prints, hand-stencilled in layers of stippled colour. Pochoir was popularised in the Art Deco prints of the French Ateliers of the 1920s and the UK’s Curwen Press. The prints are inspired by Mick Mannings’s exploration of the north, from the wilderness of Scotland to the haunting beauty of Scandinavia’s wildlife.
