There is none higher. RUN DMC, founded in 1983 by Joseph Simmons, Darryl McDaniels, and Jason Mizell, was one of the most influential acts in the history of hip-hop culture. They were the first in their genre to be nominated for a Grammy, have their video aired on MTV, and for many, the first hip-hop group they ever heard or saw. Their legacy is unparalleled and influence still seen and heard today. Jason Mizell , stage name Jam Master Jay, was the DJ for the trio.
